I've debated getting a Fujifilm camera specifically for the film simulations. After finding the channel and getting the recipes I'm so glad I did. I've been messing around with it for a bit, and I had an opportunity to take some pictures while on a recent trip to Chicago.

If you like the blacks faded, I highly recommend adjusting the film simulation as follows:
Black Level +7
Black gamma Middle -5
This will fade the shadows, probably not as much as in these photos, but it will come closer to your vision without editing.
